Cleaning drains are often a smelly and dirty task and many folks are unfamiliar with how Japanese drains are constructed.   Drains that are not cleaned regularly can create an unpleasant and smelly kitchen or worse cause clogs to form that require professional intervention. Regularly remove objects from your drain, clean with hot soapy water with a detail brush to avoid this pitfall.
